The Bum House

This is the Bum House, taken (fittingly) from behind. Daniel thinks it is hilarious - go figure.

This is the Barn House, as it looks like an American Barn.

Then there is the Stonemason's House, for obvious reasons.

And the Yellow Sun House, which you will notice is much the same as my house - kit houses. There are more around the place with names ie the Tobacco Barn, but I didn't want to overcrowd Blogger with more than 4 photos - you all know how it gets. Also I didn't want the word to go out that I was "casing a few joints"...

  7. What a bunch of cool houses. Are some of them on stilts because of flooding?

  8. A kit house comes witht he parts prefabricated so it goes up quickly as it all comes over on a couple of trucks. Easier here when it has to come on the barge. Also houses are on stumps (posts) to keep cool and sometimes to get the view.

  9. These are really interesting. Why are yours and at least one other one so high off the ground? Is it for animals underneath? Do you get floods?

  10. those homes are certainly different from what we have here in the South. Thanks for sharing.

  11. Up off the ground too because this is a subtropical area, and there are termites. Traditionally this made it easier to detect infestations. No flooding here.
