Switcheroo

What happens when your Leader Ender project becomes more exciting than the one you are supposed to be working on? In fact, what was I working on??

These little 4 patches have taken over. I thought I'd get in on this great idea and make a big 4 patch quilt. While lying in bed "too sick to do anything but look at quilt books and magazines", I made my decision. I have a photo of an old 4 patch set on point with a double pink square from this book , so I thought "that's it" (even though I've gone a bit off pink at the moment).

The worst offender in my stash is the 1800s Reproduction Fabric, which has been located lurking in all manner of nook and cranny, so why not? I don't have many scraps (that would mean I would have been using the fabric), so it's cool, I'll cut strips and do it that way at the end of the chains. All random strips, light and dark, then cut them and sew them together.

Now I don't want to do anything else. I tell myself not to worry - at least I'm sewing, and, keep going while you're into it because *you might just finish it*! So, I'm going to get off my own back and keep going, and if I get bored with it again, I'll just turn it back into the original Leader and Ender project. Right?

Isn't patchwork great?

  1. Hi there, thank you for visiting my blog! I love your leader and ender project, that would be great for some stash reduction. I like the one we can just see on the other page too!

  2. There are a lot of four patches on that quilt! And you might as well work on them while you are excited about them.
I noticed in your sidebar that you are working on a Japanese quilt. I'm working on one for my daughter. I would love to see yours.
Also you are trying to build up your stash. I like stash, although officially I am trying to reduce mine.

  3. I've had more than one leader/enders project take over. But if that's what it's taking to get you excited about quilting then go for it!

Welcome to blogland. I followed you here from a comment you left on my sister's blog.
