Maybe I'm Back...
I might just have the quilting mojo back. This is the little top I have done for Chloe's bed - I'll just bind it in red. I had to wonder to myself if I washed the red fabric, but I think I did. It had the look of a piece of fabric that had been washed then ironed, so here's hoping.
I even did a bit of blog surfing just before, and saw some lovely Repro fabrics that I instantly desired. My mouse went to Start-Favourites-fabric stores and hovered over Z & S, then I thought NO! The budget is tight and I don't need any more fabric (well not at the moment). How strong was that? I'm just not even going to look.
Tomorrow I'm going out on the Bay. Mum and Dad have a boat and they are swinging by the jetty at 10am to pick me up for a day out. I have even been thinking that I should take some hand work to do, but my big hexagon quilt is too big for that now. I did start some small 1930s hexagons ages ago, so I might try and find them tonight. I must be getting better...
I've taken my Q4P badge off too. I can't really keep up with the ring requirements at the moment, and now I find that it is folding all together. It seems someone is going to start the ring all over again using the same name, but I actually feel fairly good about making the decision to drop off. I know this is a quilting blog, but I would like to be able to post more often about some other things, so it's all for the best 'for me'.

I post a lot about life and my kids as well as my quilts. I don't think people mind hearing about other parts of our lives, so long as there is a bit of crafty content from time to time, lol!!
ReplyDeleteI have been interested learning about geocaching from you and Holly. Not ready to buy any equipment and start looking for them, but intrigued to learn about the travel bugs! Is there a link where we can follow the two quilt bugs?
I dropped from my ring too, I love quilting, but I am the sum total of all I do. I flit from one thing to the next and am perfectly happy.
ReplyDeleteI love your newest quilt, so cheerful!
You must have your mojo back if that quilt is any example. Enjoy your day out.
ReplyDeleteAh heck . . . I don't think there are any 'Blog Police' out there. We would all be pretty dull if there were only quilting to share. I'm glad to see your quilting mojo is coming back, but love to hear about all the other goings on, too *s*
ReplyDeleteHi I always enjoy your posts and hope you have your sewing mojo back but I will still come even if you don't.........I post about what I want when I want and please myself only........if poeple stop by great if they don't I don't care........oh and I am enjoying the geocaching thing......looking forward to see how they go........
ReplyDeleteThere is a product available that soaks up any color that bleeds when you wash your quilt. Made by...well darn, the name has escaped me. I'll need to head all the way down to the laundry room to look that up. Perhaps you have heard of it anyway? I tried this and it definitely works! Even on reds. :) I spent a fair amount of my day washing fabrics for my next quilt. Can't wait to cut into it!
ReplyDeletePersonally, I have to say that my favourite blogs are the ones where people post about their quilting (or whatever) in the context of the other things in their life. I do have separate blogs myself, but this is more because I think some family and friends won't be interested in all the quilting than because I think the quilters out there won't be interested in the rest of my life...if you see what I mean.
ReplyDeleteI have so many scraps hanging around. The crumb quilt is perfect. I like the red.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to read and see that you have been quilting again! I hope it continues. The quilt looks great and I'm sure your DD loves it.
